Bajaj CT110X launched at Rs 55,494

The Bajaj CT110X, with its rugged build, is the range-topper in the CT range

Bajaj Auto, over the last few months has launched the Platina 110 ABS, Platina 100 ES, the BS6 Pulsar 180 and the Platina 100 KS, and now, the company has decided to add a product to the CT line of commuter bikes. The bike in question is the CT110X. It is now the range topping bike in the CT line-up and as the X in the name suggests, it is an even more rugged and purpose-built version of the CT110. It gets revised styling and new functional bits. Let’s take a closer look at what’s what, shall we?

Bajaj CT110X: Design

The Bajaj CT110X gets new styling over the CT110 in form of a new round headlight, wider fuel tanks, new body panels, new fenders, reworked dual texture and dual stitched seat and thicker crash guards. The Bajaj CT110X now also gets a carrier at the rear that is capable of holding weights up to 7kg. The bike will be available in four different colour schemes

Bajaj CT110X: Chassis and Powertrain

The Bajaj CT110X is powered by the same 115cc, single-cylinder engine as found on the standard Bajaj CT110. Meaning, it makes 8.4bhp at 7500rpm and 9.81Nm at 5000rpm. The engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox and Bajaj claims a top-speed of 90kmph. In terms of its chassis, the CT110X uses a square tube, semi-double cradle frame. On the front, it uses a telescopic fork setup and a spring in spring twin shock setup at the rear. The seat height on the bike is 810mm and it tips the scales at 118kg (kerb). The CT110X uses semi knobby tires to aid better grip on tarmac and on broken roads.

Commenting on the launch of the Bajaj CT110X, Sarang Kanade, president, motorcycles, Bajaj Auto said “With the launch of CT110X, we are offering a differentiated product that adds value through superior features, greater riding comfort and durability without compromising mileage. The new CT110X is for those who have always wanted to own a vehicle which not only looks good but is also strongly built and can take on the toughest of riding conditions. We are putting rider-centric innovation at the core of the CT brand and we are confident that our newest offering – the CT110X, will help us further serve our customers better, in this segment.”

Bajaj demands a premium of roughly Rs 2000 over the standard CT110 and that seems like a good deal. The Bajaj CT110X is rivalled by the likes of the Hero HF deluxe and the TVS Sport.
