2019 Ducati Hypermotard spotted testing in Europe

The Ducati Hypermotard has been long due for an update and thankfully, the supermoto was spotted undergoing tests in Europe. Last updated in 2013, the Hypermotard was being sold in the 939 guise while the 1100 and 821 were discontinued.

The test mule gets a twin underseat exhaust, reminiscing the 1100’s (thankfully) while other visible updates include an angular headlamp with a redesigned beak. The tail section has been revised too with a new panel and a protruding tail light. Also gone is the centrally mounted monoshock, giving way to a side-mounted unit. We also expect the TFT instrument cluster to make it to the supermoto, which has already been seen on the new Monster 821 and Supersport.

In terms of the chassis, the Hypermotard comes with the existing trellis frame but the subframe has been completely redesigned. The lattice subframe was earlier seen on the first-generation Hypermotard 1100 and that is a welcome change. Single-sided swingram has been retained as well and we aren’t sure about the dimensions of the Hypermotard yet. In terms of the engine, the current Hypermotard 939  is powered by the Testastretta 11° 937cc L-twin engine which puts out 108.5bhp and 95Nm.

Expect the 2019 Hypermotard to debut at the 2018 EICMA, to be held on November 6-11. Would it make it to India? Yes! Expect it to arrive on our shores, sometime later next year.
