Kawasaki India seems to be on a launch spree, having launched the Ninja 1000SX, and the Z650RS a little while ago. The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R has been launched with a marginally higher price tag of Rs 15.14 lakh. For those who are unaware, Kawasaki had launched the 2021 ZX-10R back in March, and just months later we have the 2022 version. This 2022 Ninja ZX-10R is dearer than the 2021 version by fifteen grand.
2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Design
Kawasaki seems to have a knack for making some gorgeous motorcycles, and the 2022 Ninja ZX-10R reinforces the fact! The addition of the new Metallic Diablo Black paint scheme certainly impresses us in pictures, and we can’t wait to see it. The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R retains the same design as the outgoing model, featuring the same redesigned fairing from the 2021 version with an emphasis on aerodynamics and downforce. It also features the River Mark emblem from the outgoing model.
2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Powertrain
Much like the design, the powertrain on the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R also remains the same, with the 998cc inline liquid-cooled engine producing 200.2bhp at 13,200rpm and 114.9Nm of torque at 11,400rpm. With RAM air assist, the power goes up to 10bhp more, resulting in 210.2bhp. The new Ninja ZX-10R receives an updated exhaust system.
2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Chassis
While even the aluminum twin-spar frame on the new Ninja ZX-10R remains unchanged, Kawasaki says the handlebar and footpeg positioning has been altered slightly. In terms of the suspension, the 2022 Ninja receives 43mm USD Showa balance free forks at the front with 120mm of wheel travel, and a Showa BFRC lite horizontal back-link monoshock at the rear with 115mm of wheel travel. Talking about the brakes, the new Ninja ZX-10R gets Brembo M50 Monobloc four-piston calipers radially mounted on 330mm semi-floating discs at the front. Meanwhile the rear gets single-bore pin-slide calipers mounted on a 220mm disc. Kerb weight of the ZX-10R stands at 207kg.
2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Features
Just like the 2021 version, the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is equipped with a lot of features. The 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster is bluetooth-enabled and can be paired to your smartphone. You also receive four riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider), three power modes (Full, Middle, Low), S-KTRC (Sport-Kawasaki TRaction control) with five modes, launch control, cornering management, engine braking control, ABS, quickshifter, and an Ohlins electronic steering damper.
2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Price and Rivals
The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R goes up against the likes of the Ducati Panigale V4 and the BMW S1000RR. Honda has listed the CBR1000RR-R on its India website, so that should be another interesting rival to watch out for. Prices for the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R start from Rs 15.14 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes litre-class superbikes a whole lot more accessible for customers when compared to the Rs 23.50 lakh (ex-showroom) price tag of the Ducati Panigale V4 and the Rs 19.50 lakh (ex-showroom) price tag of the BMW S1000RR.
