The Scorpion Exo Clutch jacket has kept our correspondent protected and cool (both figuratively and literally) during his many, many miles on the road
The day I bought my RC 200, I started looking for the perfect riding jacket. For some reason, the mesh jackets available here didn’t impress me, so after scouring the internet, I zeroed in on the Scorpion Exo Clutch jacket. Why? Its construction features a combo of 1.2mm and 1.4mm Monaco grain leather, Sas-Tec Level 2 armour at the shoulder and elbow, perforations front and back, and it cost almost as much as a good quality mesh jacket.
At one point, this was the only jacket I had and I even did a Mumbai to Hyderabad trip, with temperatures soaring above 40 degrees, wearing it, the perforated panels letting in enough air to keep me from getting baked and the removable liner with moisture-wicking panels ensuring the jacket stayed dry and odour-free.
I have also happened to crash-test this jacket and despite being dragged almost 50m on the tarmac, the jacket only had some scuff marks on the TPU shoulder protectors. At a reasonable price of Rs 16,899, the Scorpion Exo Clutch jacket is a worthy addition to your weekend jaunts.
