Trek Bicycles India has announced the arrival of the 2020 edition of the Madone SL 6 Disc race bike. The cycle can be booked from authorised Trek retail partners in India and will set you back by Rs 3.59 lakh. It is currently the most expensive cycle listed on the Trek website.

The cycle is racing-spec bike and glancing over the spec sheet reveals that every element used on the bike has been chosen keeping performance and aerodynamics in mind. The Madone SL 6 Disc uses the 500 series OCLV Carbon frame which is made out of carbonfibre and is designed to be extremely strong while being lightweight. The Madone implements the IsoSpeed decoupler which allows the seat to rotate independently of the top-tube-to-seatstay junction. This helps in reducing the fatigue felt due to the bumps and jolts in the road and allows the rider to ride for longer distances harder and more efficiently. The cycle uses KVF (Kammtail Virtual Foil) forks which have KVF aero legs that reduce drag and also reduce weight as it uses moulded carbon dropouts. The stem of the cycle is Blendr-compatible which allows for easy installation of lights, computer systems and other compatible accessories. The cycle on the whole uses the KVF Tube shape which as Trek claims is the most aerodynamic in the world. Braking is taken care of by hydraulic disc brakes on the front and back.

Speaking about the retailing high-performance cycles in India, Navneet Banka, country manager at Trek Bicycle India said: “India has a huge appetite and riders here recognize the value of a superior ride and a quality product. We have received an overwhelming response since the introduction and launch of the ‘performance program’ last year. Our customer-centric strategy has helped us immensely as we bring the next generation of performance bikes. India is a key market for Trek and we will continue our focus to provide a great buying and ownership experience while promoting the sport of leisure and competitive cycling.”
