The Triumph 800 range is powered by a liquid cooled 3 cylinder 800cc engine. The power output is a healthy 94bhp at 9500rpm and 79Nm at 8050rpm. The powered is channeled to the rear wheel via a 6-speed manual transmission. Shifts are smooth thanks to the wet multi plate clutch.

The Triumph Tiger 800 XCA competes with the BMW F 850 GS and the Ducati Multistrada 950 which retail at Rs 12.95 lakh and Rs 12.60 lakh, ex showroom, India. Although in terms of equipment, the stock BMW isn’t at par with the Tiger. A lot of kit which is standard on the Tiger is optional on the F 850 GS. For example, features like cruise control, heated grips, pro riding modes and LED lighting are part of optional kits on the Beemer.
