Spec comparo: BMW G 310 GS vs Royal Enfield Himalayan vs Kawasaki Versys-X 300
BMW has launched the much awaited G 310 GS in the country at Rs 3.49 lakh, giving a reason for the ADV enthusiasts to cheer. The Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 were the only options if you were looking for a touring/adventure motorcycle to buy. While the Himalayan makes the least power at 24.5bhp, the Versys-X 300 is the most powerful of the lot, at 39.4bhp but makes the least torque at 25.7Nm. The Himalayan is also the only bike that makes do with a 5-speed box while the other two get 6-speed units. The Himalayan is also the only one motorcycle which is least expensive of the lot, at Rs 1.68 lakh compared to the G 310 GS and the Versys-X 300, which are slotted at Rs 3.49 lakh and Rs 4.69 lakh.
Hero MotoCorp will also launch its small capacity adventure motorcycle, the XPulse 200 sometime this year. It will also be the smallest adventure touring motorcycle in the country in terms of engine capacity. Recently, KTM also made an announcement that it will be launching the 390 Adventure in the country in 2019.
