MV Augusta takes the covers off of the 2018 F4 RC

A week after unveiling the limited edition F4 LH 44, MV Agusta has unveiled the 2018 F4 RC bike. The bike will be the base for Agusta’s WSBK motorcycle for the 2018 season.

The motorcycle, from its 998cc inline 4-cylinder heart makes an explosive power figure of 205bhp for the road legal version. They do offer a racing kit, no charge extra, which includes a SC Project exhaust, a different ECU, quick-release fuel cap, carbonfibre heat shields and rear seat cowl. The power output thus shoots up to 212bhp.

On the electronics front, there are a host of aids like the MVICS 2.0 (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) that allows you to command many parameters, which include throttle sensitivity, maximum torque, engine brake, engine response and rev limiter intervention. The inertial platform comes with a lean angle sensor and utilizes three gyroscopes and accelerometers to determine a precise operation of the traction control on 8 levels. It can also be switched off entirely. Shifting is aided with the 2.0 EAS (Electronically Assisted Shift). Quick Shift is part of the standard specification.

It comes with the Italian tricolore livery like the WSBK bike. The number ‘37’ embellished on the fairing indicates the number of constructors’ world titles won by MV Agusta. Only 250 units will be made, each one hand built. It would arrive at your doorstep in a classic wood box containing high quality components, specifically designed and built for the racing F4 RC.

MV Agusta has not revealed the price for the F4 RC. Expect them to announce at the 2017 EICMA in Milan.
