Kawasaki India has launched the 2018 model of their middle-weight sports tourer – the Versys 650. Priced at Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the 2018 model features new graphics, a gear position indicator, and an adjustable wind-screen and that’s it! Mechanically the bike remains the same. Powering the 2018 Versys 650 is the same BS-4 compliant 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin DOHC motor as seen on the 2017 model, it pumps out 68bhp of power and 64Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.

“Kawasaki’s Versys 650 is a core machine in the mid-capacity sector, which has been in continuous demand in European market ever since it was launched in 2006. In India it has started gaining attention in last couple of years with increased number of seasoned riders,” said Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director, India Kawasaki Motors.

Proving its sport touring credentials are the features like the large 21-litre fuel tank, 41mm inverted telescopic long-travel front forks with adjustable rebound damping and preload settings and 300mm dual-disc brake setup with dual piston callipers at the front and a 250mm disc brake setup at the rear. The Versys 650 is assembled at Kawasaki’s Chakan Plant and is available in a green and black colour combination only.
