Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS introduced in blue colour

Kawasaki motorcycles have always been associated with green color; their entire line-up of motorcycles has a streak of green in them no matter what colour they come in and it was difficult to imagine its motorcycles in any other colour apart from green and black. Not anymore. It has launched the Ninja 650 ABS in a blue colour, calling it as ‘candy plasma blue’, with black streaks and the motorcycle is surely a treat to look at.

Apparently the Ninja 650 ABS, in blue colour, will be sold in limited units and Kawasaki is still to announce the total number of models that will be manufactured in this colour scheme. The motorcycle is also available in KRT edition launched last year, priced at Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom) that gets colour and graphics from the Kawasaki Racing Team.

Mechanically, the Ninja 650 ABS remains unchanged and is powered by the parallel twin liquid cooled 649cc engine that pumps out 67.3bhp and 65.7Nm of peak twist which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is built around a steel trellis frame and gets front telescopic forks and monoshock that take care of suspension duties. Braking is taken care by twin semi floating 300 mm discs with dual calipers in the front and a single 220mm disc with single caliper in the rear.

Commenting on the launch of the Ninja 650 ABS in blue, Yutaka Yamashita, managing director of Kawasaki India said, “We take a lot of pride in different colour combinations, though the green and black is our signature style. The Ninja 650 in black received a very good response in the Indian market. Now we are expecting the same for blue Ninja 650 ABS.”
