Honda CB400X mini-ADV revealed
Buoyed by the success of its hugely popular CB500X in Europe, Honda has revealed a new, slightly smaller version of the entry-level adventure tourer. However, it’s currently on sale only in Japan and we don’t expect Honda to bring it to India anytime soon. Sigh.
Powered by a 399cc parallel twin motor which kicks out 45hp and 38Nm of torque, the CB400X gets alloy wheels, an adjustable screen, LED lights, ABS, adjustable levers and digital instruments. The specs are almost identical to the KTM 390 Adventure however, the KTM is lighter by 19kg at 177kg. The Honda on the other hand tips the scale at 196kg. But the Honda has the advantage of a low saddle which is just 800mm above the ground while the KTM’s sits at 855mm. This would definitely help new riders we believe.
As aforementioned, we don’t expect Honda to bring it to India. But they have plans of bringing the CB500 range to India of which we told you already. It’d be a great addition to the range of entry-level ADVs that are on sale today, including BMW G 310 GS, Royal Enfield Himalayan, Kawasaki Versys-X 300 and of course, the KTM 390 Adventure.
