Details remain sparse, but Harley-Davidson has confirmed that both bikes will use the company’s new Revolution Max engine architecture
Harley-Davidson was tight-lipped about details, but it did give out information about the new Revolution Max engine architecture. According to Harley-Davidson, the 60-degree V angle was chosen to provide space for dual down draft throttle bodies to maximize air flow and increase performance.
The Pan America will be powered by a 1250cc version of the liquid-cooled 60-degree V-Twin. Harley-Davidson claims it will produce more than 145 horsepower and 122Nm of peak torque. The Bronx will use the 975cc version with outputs of 115 horsepower and 95Nm of torque. Harley-Davidson has previously said the engine will be offered in four different displacements from 500cc to 1250cc.
The engine serves as a stressed member of the frame to optimize the bikes’ centers of gravity and primary engine vibrations are countered by an internal counter balancer.
Harley-Davidson also revealed that they have collaborated with Michelin and Brembo for developing tyres and brakes for the two bikes.
