Ducati to launch BS6 lineup of Scrambler this month

We suspect that Ducati India is bringing the Scrambler 1100 first followed by the 800s later

Recently, Ducati India teased a new launch on its Instagram handle with the headlamp of a Scrambler. While the Scrambler 1100 model range originally comprised of three variants, only the Pro and Sport Pro have been brought to Euro 5 norms, which means they will be sold under BS6 emissions standards in India. With the Scrambler range being one of Ducati’s best-selling products in our country, it is not a long shot to think that the Italian manufacturer will bring the top-line Scrambler 1100’s to India this month. Here’s everything you need to know to get up to speed on the imminent launch.

What sets these two Scramblers apart?

The Ducati Scrambler 1100 is powered by a 1079cc engine in a classic air-cooled L-twin configuration. The mill makes 84.8bhp and 90.5Nm of torque. This Scrambler is currently sold abroad in two variants – the 1100 Pro and 1100 Sport Pro, with the latter getting Ohlins 48mm fully adjustable USD forks and an adjustable Ohlins monoschock while the former has Marzocchi 45mm fully adjustable USD forks up front and a Kayaba monoshock out back.

While the Pro gets the classic upright Scrambler handlebar, the Sport Pro gets a lowered wide ‘bar to lend a more aggressive stance to the rider. This makes the Sport Pro variant 25mm wider than the Pro, coming in at 920mm wide as compared to the Pro’s 895mm width. The Sport Pro also gets the number 1100 embossed on the aluminuium plates that cover the 15-litre tank. Both bikes also get wider redesigned seats for better rider and pillion comfort.

Both bikes are based on a steel trellis frame and sport an 810mm seat height. They are enabled with three and traction control too. The Scrambler 1100s also get cornering ABS as standard. The beauty of the Scrambler range lies in its minimalistic design and the Pro’s paint schemes accentuate its curved lines. The 1100 Pro is offered in a dual-tone silver with yellow highlights Ocean Drive livery while the Sport Pro comes in a gorgeous Matte black finish.

As for pricing, we expect the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro to be priced at around Rs 12 lakh while the Sport Pro is estimated to set you back by about Rs 12.75 lakh.
