Ducati is all set to launch the Scrambler 1100 on August 27. As the name suggests, the Scrambler 1100 comes with a big-bored, 1079cc l-twin motor along with Ducati’s Safety Pack that brings with it traction control and cornering ABS.

The motor churns out 84bhp and 88Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Liquid-cooling is given a miss to stick with traditional Scrambler legacy.  The Scrambler 1100 also comes with dual 2-1-2 exhausts. Braking duties are carried out by a 320mm double disc setup up front as compared to the 330mm single disc on the Scrambler 800. The rear wheel is shod with a 245mm single disc. However, the biggest updates include cornering ABS (switchable) and traction control. Inclusion of ride-by-wire means you get three riding modes to choose from: Active, Journey and City. The single-pod instrument cluster comes with an additional display which incorporates a gear indicator.

The Scrambler 1100 is built on a tubular steel trellis frame. It features a 45mm fully adjustable Marzocchi upside down forks in the front and a Kayaba monoshock in the rear which is also adjustable for pre-load and rebound. The rake has been increased by 0.5 degrees (24.5) over the 24 degree rake on the Scrambler 800. The trail has been reduced by 1mm (111mm) while the total steering lock also reduces by a degree (34 degree) compared to the 112mm trail and the 35 degree steeringlock on the Scrambler 800.

The Scrambler 1100 is expected to be priced at around Rs. 11.5 lakh. Triumph recently teased the Street Scrambler 1200, which is expected to be revealed at 2018 EICMA. Once launched, it’ll rival the the Scrambler 1100 along with the BMW RnineT Scrambler.
