Bajaj Auto has just launched the Avenger Street 180 and is priced at Rs. 84,499 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it much cheaper than the smaller-engined Suzuki Intruder 150, which costs Rs. 1 lakh. The Avenger 180 replaces the Avenger 150 in the fleet.
This 178cc engine makes 15.3bhp at 8,500 rpm and 13.7Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The Intruder 150, in comparison, produces 14.6bhp and 14 Nm from its 155cc four stroke engine. The 178cc motor is mated to a 5 speed gearbox.
Styling of the Avenger Street 180 is similar to the Avenger 220 Street model. It gets a new headlight, fairing, and graphics, alloy wheels, a matte-black exhaust with an aluminium-finish heat shield, a new grab rail and a revised seat. But the 180 misses out on the digital instrument cluster available on the Street 220. It gets a regular analog console. The Avenger 180 is currently the lowest priced cruiser in India.
