Revolt Motors launches the RV 300 and RV 400 in India

India’s first electric motorcycle is available with a monthly payment option starting at Rs2,999/month

Revolt Motors has finally launched the much-hyped electric motorcycle, RV 400 in India. However, the company has also launched another lower-spec model, RV 300. Interestingly, these bikes are available with a unique monthly payment system starting from Rs 2,999 per month for the RV 300 to Rs 3999 per month for the top-spec RV 400, for a tenure of 37 months.

Powering the Revolt RV bikes

The Revolt RV 400 is powered by a 3.24kWh battery paired with a 3kW motor producing a claimed 50Nm of peak twist. This electric motorcycle boasts of an ARAI-certified range of 156km. The RV 400 also gets 3 riding modes—mode 1 limits the speed to 45kmph, while mode 2 takes the bike up to 65kmph and the with mode 3, the bike can touch 85kmph. Revolt Motors will also be offering an option to swap batteries which would be delivered at the customer’s doorstep.

The RV 300 gets a 1.5kW hub-mounted motor with a claimed range of up to 180km depending on the riding modes. The bike also has a top speed of only 65kmph. It also gets smaller brakes, skinnier wheels and a shorter wheelbase.

Equipment

The Revolt RV 400 gets a lot of premium components like USD forks, 240mm discs at the front as well as rear, an all-digital instrument cluster and even a USB port to charge your smartphone. The bike gets smartphone compatibility as well, allowing riders to start the bike, mark its location with geo-fencing and even select the exhaust note! Yes, you can get the RV 400 sound like a two-stroke or an in-line triple with the speakers.

Design

The RV 400 looks and feels like a conventional bike, with proportions similar to a 125cc commuter. The tall handlebars, neutrally-set pegs should make up for a comfortable riding posture. Surprisingly, Revolt has chosen to mount the rear brake in place of the clutch lever, like scooters, robbing the feel of riding a motorcycle. The bike gets a neat-looking ‘Power’ button instead of a key and even a nifty storage space where a fuel tank would sit on a conventional motorcycle.

The Revolt bikes are available with a few introductory benefits including eight-year/150,000km battery warranty. The bikes also get maintenance benefits of 30,000km/three years along with a product warranty of five years or 75,000 km. The bikes also get free insurance.
