Boasting of a segment-first 5th gear and a ‘Gear-shift-guide’, the new Platina 110H-Gear takes the competition head on
Bajaj Auto launches the third variant of the Platina series of commuters - Platina 110 H-gear. The bike will be available in 2 variants. The front disc brake equipped variant will cost Rs 55,373 while the drum brake equipped variant will cost Rs 53,376.(both prices are ex-showroom Delhi.) The bike goes up against the like of the Splendor iSmart priced at Rs 56,28 ex-showroom Delhi.
Bajaj has introduced some first-in-class features in its latest commuter offering. These features include the ‘H-Gear’ and the ‘Gear-Shift-Guide’. The H-Gear stands for highway gear and is optimised to give the bike just enough power to cruise comfortably while maintaining its high commuter fuel efficiency figures. The bike is also the first in its class to introduce a fifth gear in its engine. The ‘Gear-Shift-Guide’ is an indicator on the digital console of the bike which prompts the rider to shift gear up or down based on the speed and gear combination to get best fuel efficiency.
Powering the bike is the same 115cc single cylinder with 2 valves. It makes
8.48 bhp of power at 7000rpm and 9.81 Nm of torque at 5000rpm. The engine stays mechanically unchanged except the addition of the 5th gear. The bike tips the scales at 118.5 kilograms (kerb). Suspension components are the same as the previous platinas. Range should be great as always with all the new technologies paired with a 11 litre fuel tank. Anchoring the bike is either a 240mm Disc or Drum brake up front (depending on variant) and a 110mm drum at the back with CBS.
The bike will be offered in three colour options, i.e., Ebony Black with Blue decals, Ebony Black with Royal Burgundy decals and in Cocktail wine Red.
