Triumph reveals the production ready Rocket 3 TFC “Concept”

Triumph motorcycles have now confirmed the second model in their Triumph Factory Custom lineup after the Thruxton TFC. Even though the brawny Rocket 3 TFC was initially labelled as a concept, the brand confirmed a limited run of 750 motorcycles for the TFC range. The details of the motorcycle will be revealed on May 1.

The first gen Triumph Rocket III featured a 2294cc three-cylinder engine- the largest-displacement on any production motorcycle. The motorcycle made 148bhp with 221 Nm of torque and with this long due update, we can expect the power figure to increase to over 180bhp. The Rocket TFC Concept has been built from the ground up and features a new, flatter handlebar along with a new TFT display along with a redesigned frame and new engine. The TFC badge means lighter and premium components like loads of carbonfibre and the neatly tucked Arrow exhaust system. Also, now instead of the roman numerals on the badge for 3, the bike uses English numerals.

The motorcycle now sheds the twin shock set up at the rear in favour of a monoshock. It also gets a new single-sided swingarm and two seat configurations. The Triumph Rocket 3 is targeted at the likes of the Ducati Diavel and is expected to set a new benchmark for cruisers.

Although the TFC version will be limited to 750 motorcycles, a standard, mass-produced motorcycle too is on the cards and has been spotted testing. Rocket 3 platform could serve as the platform for future models much like the Bonneville platform does for Triumph. The standard trim is expected to make a public appearance later this year at EICMA.
