Limited edition 2019 MV Agusta F4 Claudio unveiled

MV Agusta is all set to retire the F4 superbike, but not before one last farewell. Over these years, the marque has revealed some fabulous limited edition motorcycles, commemorating the likes of Ayrton Senna and Massimo Tamburini. This year, however, MV Agusta has dug deep to build this collectible classic – the 2019 MV Agusta F4 Claudio. Yes! The F4 Claudio pays final homage to the man who saved MV Agusta from disappearing in the late 1990s, the former MV Agusta owner – Claudio Castiglioni. As such, only 100 examples will be produced.

Powering the 2019 MV Agusta F4 Claudio

The limited edition model is heavily based on the F4 RC platform, which means the F4 Claudio will use a slightly modified version of the Corsa Corta 4-cylinder 998cc engine making 202bhp in road trim and 209bhp in a track format with dual-tipped race exhaust from SC-Project. Inside the F4 Claudio there are titanium conrods, a rebalanced and lightened crankshaft, revised intake ports, and DLC-treated cam followers. The gearbox gets a quickshifter and a wet STM slipper clutch while the exhaust comes from SC-Project with a laser-engraved “Claudio” etched on the mufflers.

2019 MV Agusta F4 Claudio – the electronics, chassis and the body!

Even the chassis, the steel trellis design mated to Ohlins NIX 30 TiN-coated forks up front and an Ohlins TTX36 shock at the rear are the same as the F4 RC.

The F4 Claudio will come with four riding modes- Normal, Sport, Rain and Custom which riders can change along with traction, throttle response and engine braking. The F4 Claudio comes with a lot of race spec features like the 8-stage traction control unit, AIM dash with full data logging and integrated GPS which allows a rider to dial in specific traction control parameters at different points of track. Just like Torres’ motorcycle. The F4 Claudio comes with a lot of carbon fiber and carbon bodywork and so does superb gold-flake BST wheels. And hence, the MV Agusta F4 Claudio weighs only 183kgs (dry weight)!

The F4 became “the world’s best-looking bike” when Massimo Tamburini’s flair and Claudio Castiglioni’s insight came together and the F4 was presented to the public in 1997. The launch marked a triumphant return for the brand that has brought home more world championship trophies than any other.
