TVS Racing has announced the dates of the selection trials for the 2019 TVS Ladies One Make Championship. The selection rounds will be held in Bengaluru and Mumbai on February 9 and February 23 respectively with 15 riders to be selected from each city. The final round will take place at the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT) on May 4.
These selection sessions will also include a full day training school to familiarise the riders with their race-prepped TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition. The riders will be selected based on their physical fitness, racing abilities and best lap timings. Selection trials for Bangalore will be held at the Meco Kartopia while Island Sports Gokart Track will be the venue for the Mumbai selections.
Commenting on this occasion, B Selvaraj, team manager, TVS Racing said, “We are the only manufacturer in India committed to women’s racing with 4 consecutive seasons of the TVS Ladies One Make Championship. We introduced this initiative to train and equip talented women riders to enter the mainstream racing arena. With each passing year, I am delighted to see the increasing number of participants, which is a testimony to our effort of creating a gender-neutral space for motorsports in India. I wish all the women participants the very best and hope to see them excited about professional racing.”
After the final selection process in Chennai, the riders will be trained by TVS Racing’s national championship riders. The training will focus on improving their physical fitness and racing skills for the Indian Nation Motorcycle Racing Championship that will be held in June 2019.
