Title Wrapped Up, Almost

Apart from the cosmetic changes on both bikes, Honda has updated the one make CBR 150R as well as the 250R for 2016, with the biggest change being a new softer MRF compound improving grip levels as well as cornering speeds. The CBR 150R uses a 140-section rear tyre while the 250R uses a wider 150-section with tonnes of edge grip.
Honda was the first manufacturer to also have an all-female race, back in February at the season finale. The standalone race from 2015 has now become a fully-fledged series with the fairer sex racing CBR 150Rs. Pune’s Pooja Dabhi of Ten10 Racing has shown promise in the races so far with two wins and a podium to her name. While it still isn’t a championship this year round, we should expect it to be so 2017 onwards.
The CBR 150Rs are also raced in the Novice category where Hubli’s Anish Shetty has dropped points only twice this season. Now he sits atop the rider’s championship with 158 points.
Chennai-lad P M Soorya is 53 points off Shetty, sitting comfortably in second. There is a battle brewing for third with Shreyas Shankar Sannake (85 points) is currently ahead of Piyush Ranjan (72) and Mahesh Murali (71).
2015 Group C champion, Mathana Kumar is the driving force in the Open class. Stepping up from 165cc, the new CBR 250R seems to be suiting him as he leads Ten10 Racing teammate Rajiv Sethu by 42.5 points. Mathana has five victories to his name in the class while Rajiv has just the one. Abhishek V (86.5 points) of Rockstar Racing hasn’t allowed the possibility of a Ten10 Racing 1-2-3 in the championship, as he sits third, 18.5 points ahead of Hari Krishnan. Meanwhile Rockstar Racing’s Ami van Poederooijen could yet take third as he has 66 points
to his name.
Ten10 Racing have added yet another title to the trophy cabinet by winning the team championship with a couple of
races to spare.
