The Avanti bicycle brand was established in 1985 and since then, they have been committed to creating high-quality bikes such as the Giro FM1. Designed at Avanti Design Technology ADT, the Giro FM1 features a lightweight aluminium frame with smooth welds and it also marks the debut of the Microshift Acolyte gearing system in India. Featuring a spring-lock clutch mechanism, this gearing system is traditionally seen only on high-end bikes. The Giro FM1 also gets a version for women, named the FM1, and it features a different frame with a women-specific geometry and a wider saddle with a higher density. Jaymin Shah, Managing Director commented on Avanti’s launch in India, saying, “We are extremely excited to launch Avanti Bikes – our third cycling brand in India from the SCOTT group. Avanti represents a unique opportunity because it is a product designed specifically for the southern hemisphere countries. After being in New Zealand & Australia, we look forward to Avanti Being in India”. He further added that “We aim to have 100 dealer partners across the country with 12 models launching over the next 6 months, which will include kids bikes, road bikes & commuter bikes. We aim to add more kids, teenagers, and commuters to the cycling community in India.”

With a launch price of Rs. 40,990, Avanti plans to position the GIRO FM1 competitively in the market, available in a choice of a red and white paint scheme. Avanti’s bicycles are available in the country through more than 70 dealers, and they can also be booked online by visiting their website.
