Bringing more excitement to Indian adventure motorcycling enthusiasts, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has commenced its nationwide initiative – ‘Africa Twin True Adventure Camp.’ In the first leg (Delhi NCR), the camp witnessed a participation of 20 riders who gathered at the campsite close to scenic Damdama Lake in Sohna (Haryana). The riders were trained on the basics of motorcycling and off-roading by Vijay Parmar, president of Himalayan Motorsports Association, and his team of expert riders. The adventure camp activity will be further expanded to other cities in a phase-wise manner and will mark its way to Mumbai, Bangalore and Kochi.
The Africa Twin True Adventure Camp is a combination of both theoretical and practical sessions in which the riders were explained the basics of off-road riding and are taught more about the features of the Honda Africa’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), different modes of riding for different terrains and its other off-road capabilities. Special sessions were also given to boost the confidence of the participants while encountering other off road features like humps, underground turns, gravel, pits and dirt tracks.
Speaking on the start of the boot camp, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior VP – sales and marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, said, “The Africa Twin True Adventure Camp activity brings together the enthusiasts and the experts making riders experience more adventurous. The interactions within the community enhanced the learnings and skills to explore the full potential of this machine.”
This initiative from Honda has the brand joining the ranks with other such brand- and owner-focussed initiatives, such as Ducati’s DRE Off-Road Experience, BMW’s GS Experience and Triumph’s Tiger Trails.
