Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced its plans for FY 2018-19 focusing on introduction of a new product along with 18 updates to the current line-up. HMSI will also be adding new sales outlets and revamping its manufacturing hubs to produce additional number of vehicles.

HMSI will be investing Rs 800 crore to ramp up its manufacturing plants in the wake of BS-VI norms which will be implemented in April 2020. The Japanese two-wheeler maker will also be aiming to reach the target of 6000 dealerships by the end of FY 2019, focusing on rural areas. The pre-owned vehicle outlets, also known as ‘Best deal’ will also reach to a touch point of 250. ‘Honda Joy Club’, HMSI’s loyalty programme for its customers, will also be introduced sometime later this year.

2017 saw more than 6 million Honda two-wheelers being sold in the country and with the slew of new initiatives, expect the number to swell even further.
