First ever Ducati India Race Cup to be held this year

All you Ducati owners who wished to race their Italian steed on the track, rejoice! After successful DRE event, Ducati India has now announced the first one make race cup, christened, Ducati India Race Cup. Exclusive to SuperSport and Panigale range, the race will be held in October 2019 at the Buddh International Circuit along with the 2019 Volkswagen Ameo Cup’s season finale. The race cup will be a collaboration between Ducati India and Volkswagen Motorsport India.

Commenting on the brand’s first one-make race, Sergi Canovas, managing director of Ducati India said, “In 2018, Ducati showcased its racing DNA by winning at the JK Tyre National Superbike Racing Championship and now, Ducati is proud to bring its very own one-make race along with Volkswagen Motorsport India. This year, we are also looking to organize not just another DRE Track day but are also working on having certified DRE instructors in India itself so that they can provide individual training to keen Ducati riders before the race. Ducati India is thankful to Volkswagen Motorsports India for this collaboration.”

This race is specially introduced in India to give the owners an opportunity of racing on a track and to develop the sport in India. The qualifying race will be held on October 5 with the final race taking place on October 6. Entries and details on the eligibility for the inaugural season will be updated on the Ducati website soon.
